Mount Jerpoint Equestrian

Irish Sporthorses

Thank you for your interest in our Irish Sport Horses.

We are honored to begin this journey with you.

At MJEq we are invested in a ‘ horse first ‘ ethos. We do not ‘transact’ or ‘sale’. No. We place.

As sentient and powerful souls, our horses are carefully chosen as 3, 4 and 5 year olds with trusted partners throughout The Republic of Ireland. With our professional Irish based riders, we then invest in the long vision journey of listening, joining up, and guiding what our horses tell us they’re most inspired to pursue.

Hunt. Jump. Cross country. Eventing.

Like every world class athlete, each soul has a natural gift… a path that is the most exciting to pursue. And its our honor to steward that strength. Guide that passion. And set the strides ahead for the greatest success… for horse. And for human.

Our licensed and certified professional riders then start the journey. With love. Patience. A soft hand. And strong hearts.

Then… when the time is right… we find you.

We’re so honored you found us. And, again, we look forward to this journey togehter.

Cead Mille Failte!

A powerful dapple grey Irish sport horse standing square in a lush emerald-green paddock, its coat gleaming with a subtle metallic sheen and neatly braided mane. The horse wears a pristine leather bridle with polished silver fittings, positioned side-on near a white post-and-rail fence that leads the eye into rolling Irish countryside. Soft late-afternoon natural light creates gentle highlights along the arch of its neck and muscles, with long shadows stretching across the short, manicured grass. Photographic realism at eye-level, crisp focus on the horse with a slightly blurred background, conveying professionalism, health, and athletic potential in a calm, confident atmosphere suitable for a premium sales website.
A bay Irish sport horse mid-canter in a well-kept outdoor sand arena, its powerful hindquarters engaged and tail lifted, showing clear suspension and athletic movement. The horse wears a clean jumping saddle and white saddle pad, with neatly trimmed legs and polished hooves. Low white arena fencing surrounds the space, beyond which are orderly green fields and neatly stacked show jumps. The scene is lit by bright but diffused overcast daylight, creating even, shadow-free illumination that highlights muscular definition and coat condition. Photographic realism with a slightly elevated, three-quarter angle capturing the forward momentum, moderate depth of field to keep horse and arena crisp while softening distant background, projecting an energetic yet professional sales-focused mood.

About

MJEq is particularly focused on supporting the American rider in the English saddle.

Whether hunt, jump, 3 day, cross country or dressage, our vision is based on decades of experiences… both great, and not-so-great.

There are no bad horses.

There are no bad people.

There are, unfortunately, too many stories of transactional interests placing too many horses and too many humans together in a manner that is not naturally set for success. And, as many of us have experienced firsthand, is then set for a spiraling failure for both human and horse. Trapped in a box that becomes ever more difficult to break free from.

From your first inquiry we look to understand your goals. Your passions in saddle. Your experience. Your challenges and concerns in the joining up process. And then we look to partner.

Over a week long experience together of trialing and confirmation, we are hopeful that we have the successfully partnered mount for you. That together, we can join you and one of our souls, in a manner that sets a path forward of success.

If we learn we don’t have the right mount for you and where you are in life and where you hope to go, together, we then look to refer you to a close network of other providers who’s methods and practices align with ours. Folks we regularly share a pint with in the spirit of Slainte!

A close-up, photographic-realistic detail of an Irish sport horse’s refined head, chestnut coat rich and glossy, with a distinctive white blaze and alert, intelligent eye. The horse wears a premium dark brown leather bridle with immaculate stitching and softly padded noseband, standing in front of a dark wooden stable door that provides a warm, textured backdrop. Soft window light from the side creates delicate highlights on the horse’s eye and the contours of its cheek, with gentle shadows adding depth to the leather and coat texture. Shot in a vertical portrait orientation at eye level, with shallow depth of field that blurs the stable background, the mood is calm, trustworthy, and professional, ideal for showcasing quality and breeding on a sales site.
A well-structured conformation shot of a tall, athletic grey Irish sport horse standing on a clean, level yard surface, aligned perfectly side-on to the camera. The horse’s coat is lightly fleabitten with a clean, pulled mane and neatly trimmed tail, legs straight and evenly spaced to clearly display correct build and balance. Behind, a tidy stone stable block with dark green doors and hanging flower baskets adds subtle Irish character without distraction. Soft, even natural daylight from an overcast sky ensures no harsh shadows, providing clinical clarity of the horse’s outline. Photographic realism, framed in a landscape orientation with generous negative space around the horse, sharp focus throughout, conveying an objective, professional, catalog-like presentation suitable for serious buyers.
A dynamic scene of an Irish sport horse clearing a brightly colored show-jumping oxer in a competition arena, captured at the peak of the jump with forelegs neatly tucked and powerful muscles visible through its shiny dark bay coat. The horse’s plaited mane and white jumping boots emphasize precision and care. In the background, slightly blurred, are additional fences, potted shrubs, and distant green fields framed by low stone walls, suggesting an Irish venue. Late-afternoon golden hour sunlight washes the scene in warm tones, casting a subtle rim light along the horse’s topline. Photographic realism from a low, three-quarter front angle that emphasizes scope and athleticism, with crisp focus on the horse and fence, creating an aspirational, performance-driven yet professional atmosphere for marketing top-level sales horses.
An elegant Irish sport horse standing quietly in a spacious, immaculate stable, its dark liver chestnut coat contrasting with fresh white shavings underfoot. The horse faces slightly toward the open top door, where soft natural daylight spills in, catching the subtle sheen of its coat and the smooth curves of a well-fitted leather headcollar. The stable walls are a clean, warm timber with neatly arranged nameplate and bridle hooks in the background, suggesting careful management and organization. Photographic realism from an eye-level perspective just outside the door, using moderate depth of field to keep the horse and immediate stable interior sharp while softening details beyond. The lighting and composition create a serene, trustworthy, professionally managed atmosphere ideal for a premium Irish sport horse sales environment.
